Talk about a roller-coaster ride! Two weeks ago, HP announced a sudden halt to webOS devices. A few days later, the $99/$150 fire sale began.
Now, with sales that have placed the TouchPad into the #2 tablet in the marketplace (yes, you read that correct!), HP is announcing another production run.
"Despite announcing an end to manufacturing webOS hardware, we have decided to produce one last run of TouchPads to meet unfulfilled demand," HP spokesman Mark Budgell wrote in a company blog post.
No word on whether or not HP will continue the accountant-killing price strategy, but it sounds like more TouchPads are on their way.
The big question on everybody's mind…is this some clever (manipulative) marketing strategy? Or is HP really operating in knee-jerk reaction mode?
