HP’s Massive Dump – TouchPads for $99 – This Weekend!
Holy crap!
HP is serious about cutting its ties with webOS hardware. Our friends at PreCentral.net are reporting that HP will be holding a Fire Sale on HP TouchPads this weekend, with 16GB TouchPads going for $99!
Ouch! That's less than the cost of a decent digital photo frame.The 32GB model will go for $150. No word on the mysterious 64GB model, which ironically appeared today on HP's website.
I think it's clear to say that nobody really knows what is going on at HP right now. Sales staff are caught off guard, Palm folks are shocked, the Pre3 is dead (if it ever existed) and Leo has already moved on as if this was all just a bump in the road.
Well, $99 for a TouchPad IS very tempting. I might pick up one for each of my kids.
