ALERT – HP to Kill webOS Devices. Goodbye TouchPad & Phones
Shocking news just arrived via the Business Wire. HP announces that it is shuttering webOS devices, including TouchPad and mobile phones.
The announcement comes as part of a major restructuring in HP, which may roll off it's personal computing division altogether.
We wrote a few weeks ago about our opinion that HP had essentially killed off webOS with it's sub-par release of the TouchPad. Now, our fears have come true. Granted, the press release only mentions current webOS DEVICES. But, right now, what else is there?
This story is developing. But it is surely a major blow to old Palm fans, webOS lovers and, not to mention, those who just shelled out $300-$700 for the latest TouchPad device, which was release less than 50 days ago.
