LogMeIn – “You May Want to Go with the iPad”
LogMeIn is one of the killer apps for webOS. Killer, as in, it kills us that there is no app!
As you probably know, LogMeIn offers various flavors of remote desktop control, including a free service. It's a great for road warriors and those of us who work from multiple locations.
Recently I contacted sales/support to see if there were plans to release a webOS app in conjunction with the HP TouchPad release this summer. I explained, "it's great that you have an app for the iPad, but I'm holding out hope that this service will be available for the HP TouchPad."
LogMeIn's response? Expected, but a little disheartening.
"We do get a lot of feature requests regarding an app for WebOS, and we have made the requests known to our development team. As I said before if we do decide to release one we will post news about it on those websites. Unfortunately this is all that I'm allowed to tell you, so to be safe you may want to go with the iPad since you know for sure that we have an app for it."
Now I realize that this is probably standard talking points for software developers. It would be nice, however, for HP to start feeding us with some details on the apps that will be available at launch. Many of us would be very excited to see LogMeIn among that group.
So what other webOS apps are you holding out hope for?
